Disaster Recovery Audit for North American Airline

Enterprise Networks performed an audit on system availability and disaster recovery capabilities of mission critical IT systems for flight planning and control, crew management as well as weight and balance. The audit answered key questions such as:

Does the engineered system availability match the SLA? How long is the time lag to take stand-by systems into operation? Are service recovery and restoration times acceptable? Are network connections sufficiently redundant? Is mission critical data mirrored? Are data and redo-logs saved in sufficient frequency? Do data backups provide full integrity and consistency? What is the optimized approach to disaster recovery from a cost perspective?

Based on this comprehensive analysis necessary improvements were identified and disaster readiness could be improved significantly.
